Facebook’s Commerce Policy and Community Standards About Gun and Ammo Sales Directly Contradict Each Other

Those of us who have been blocked from Facebook multiple times have seen Facebook’s policies change numerous times.

If you dive in right now, you’ll find that two policies directly contradict each other. Do they do this on purpose so they can pick and choose what can be posted or are they just idiots? If you look at their Commerce Policy – 5. For Weapons, Ammunition or Explosives, it says nothing is allowed. You can’t even share gun shows according to this.

Facebook’s Current Commerce Policy on Weapons, Ammunition and Explosives

Now if we look at their Community Standards they contradict the Commerce Policy. Are firearm sales allowed on Facebook? According to their own page ” Firearm shops and online retailers are allowed to engage in commercial activity involving firearms and ammunition on Facebook (ex: offering a gun for sale) as long as all applicable laws and regulations are followed. “

So what is it Facebook? Can gun dealers and retailers sell guns and ammo on Facebook or not?

Teach your people or make your policies more clear.
